Two weeks ago I spent a quick 48 hours in London. It was the Blogtacular weekend and I was excited to be speaking with my plant fellow Judith about our Urban Jungle Bloggers community. Our presentation was a success if you ask me: We had a big audience (even sitting on the floor as all chairs were taken) and a vivid Q&A session after our presentation. Another personal highlight of this year’s Blogtacular was the keynote speech by Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge. I felt very inspired and it was beyond cool to meet her in person and enjoy a fun and chatty coffee break with her, Anne and Judith. After the conference we headed off to the London store of West Elm where Pinterest organized a Pintacular DIY party with one overarching topic: Urban Jungles. Truly a fun green day!

Sunday was our day off and Judith and I kicked it off with a relaxed breakfast with the at{mine} team. Afterwards we decided to walk the calories off by crossing the City of London. By coincidence we noticed a sign promoting the ‘Open Garden Squares Weekend’ – apparently all London was clad in green for the Urban Jungle Bloggers. We entered a wonderful, Hogwarts-like building and its green courtyard full of English roses, lush greens and impeccable English lawns. We topped our visit with a very British tea hour and homemade cake and felt fully inspired by London in a mere 48 hours!

After the green squares it was time to head ‘home’, to the charming Motel One Tower Hill who kindly offered to host us during the weekend. I know Motel One from several stays (you remember the wonderful Motel One visit in Vienna) so I was happy to be saying in their new London house located just a few walking minutes from the Tower of London and the famous Tower Bridge. The hotel is comfortable and offers probably one of the best price-performance ration in the City of London. Plus a good and yummy breakfast! And you are located in the City of London with a tube station just around the corner. Definitely a good place to stay for your next London weekend trip!

Yes it was truly my personal highlight. It’s amazing to meet people you’ve been following for such a long time online and then they proof to be as natural and friendly as you imagined them!
