5 Happy Inspirations: Copper Love

To be honest, with this rather unspectacular summer in Germany I sort of am open-minded to think of the upcoming autumn and winter season. What will be hot for interiors? Any colour trends? New decoration ideas? Well, one thing that I really like and would love to see trending in the next season is copper. There’ve been quite some copper ideas around, but I think there might be more to come in A/W 2012/13. What do you think? Hot or not? Here are ‘5 Happy Inspirations’ visualizing my idea:

1. You don’t need real copper for the copper trend. Best proof: This DIY idea by A Merry Mishap.

2. Copper-like cutlery? I’d say yes for a spectacular dinner with friends. Seen on Anthropologie.

3. Copper pipes reinvented as a desk lamp as seen on Inreda Utreda Blogg.

4. Bring the copper trend to the streets, too – for example, with a flashy copper bike. Seen on Wit Industries.

5. This cute Lup candleholder by Hay has been for quite a while on my wish list. Seen on Finnish Design Shop.

Happy Wednesday!

Oh, I love copper! I had spotted the copper vase DIY some time now and I was thrilled (not that I actually tried it out- maybe one day I will!)

Hot, hot, hot! I have a trio of copper candlesticks at home that I keep out all year round but they really come into their own come autumn. Like Munich, London’s summer (bit of a joke to call it that!) is non existent. Booooo!

I love beautiful (natural) materials and copper is one of them that is quite glamorous and can be combined with so many different styles! I personally like it particularly with chalky and powdery pastels. Dutch interior label HKliving have got some beautiful pieces in their Autumn collection. Will share some pictures with you as soon as they are available.

Nice picks Igor. I like the lamp in particular. Copper does imbue a sense of timelessness.

    The bike is amazing!

I’m loving copper too lately. Lup is just amazing. The bike is such a great find, Igor! So beautiful. I can’t stop looking at it. The copper vase diy seems like a fun idea, but when I went to check the instructions, I couldn’t believe that fab lab flask got covered up. The science geek in me was a bit sad, I love glass beakers and flasks. But the idea is still fun. I would just use a different vessel πŸ™‚

    Happy Wednesday!

Can’t say that I am a big fan of copper I prefer the look of brass, but if I was going to have it ,it would definitely have to be aged and have some patina to it! Should be interesting to see what happens with the trend though!

Lovely finds and copper at its finest for sure.
Nothing like my granny’s super busy and decorated folklore trays and vessels, which btw I shamelessly admit to have loved back then! I even enjoyed the process of polishing them together with my mother.

I love the styling and light in the first picture, which reminded me of a pair of identical trays that haven’t been used for a long time, cause their surface isn’t so brightly white any more.
    The cutlery is so inviting!

And that bike is awesome indeed! I spotted it thanks to Holly’s pins some days ago. Bingo!

    Happy weekend Igor, πŸ™‚ xoxo

I love this new trend that is coming! I have already invested in a couple of things in copper already πŸ™‚ Perfect to warm up all the black and white in my home.
