5 Happy Inspirations: Living Room Ideas

May 1, 2012 0

Today, I am paying due attention to one of the most frequented rooms in homes, the living room. I start by carefully scrutinizing my own little living room: the dominating colours (black and white), the textiles, the furniture, the art, the style, the decoration. And I notice I need a new coffee table. But I digress. I thought it is a good idea to put together five happy ideas to style a living room – with bold patterns, a gallery wall, colours, a monochromatic approach or a feature wall. What do you prefer?

Photography: Bold pattern via Anthropologie; gallery wall via Planete Deco; colour via Miluccia; monochromatic via Lily; feature wall via Fauxology.

One day I will get round to having a go at creating a gallery wall like that. *sigh*

Agree, with Will – the Ikat couch is a real showstopper.

I will go for the piccture wall but seeing what happened here at my own home with the blue summer picture wall (got bored with it really quick and took it of already after two weeks) I should chose the monochrome look πŸ˜‰ Wondering what coffe table you will get yourself…. make it unexpected! πŸ˜‰

Some great stylish ideas Igor, love the gallery wall for all the family photos that are stuck in albums and also love the whitewashed floor boards in 3.

Great ideas here Igor. I’d love a feature wall. Maybe one with those skinny wooden tiles I wrote about this week πŸ˜‰

    Have a great day πŸ™‚

loves the monochrome … it is so less cluttered. i love empty spaces in my living area πŸ˜€ the only place that allows to be colorful is my studio. thats all … i worked in colors, but live in mono πŸ™‚

now i am considering to put a simple monochrome herringborne pattern on my bedroom πŸ™‚

These days I’m on more of a monochrome kick, but I love the splashes of colour here!

I’m not usually a fan of feature walls, but this one is so pretty! I adore that Anthro settee, too.
