The best thing about loving plants is that it is a worldwide phenomenon. Now it only took me a 24-hours flight to reach the other end of the world and find a place that embodies the love for plants in one fabulous shop: Bioattic in Auckland, New Zealand. Right upon my arrival in Auckland en route to my Airbnb I spotted the sign saying ‘Specialty Plant Store’ (the store was closed then) and I knew this is where I have to go. And boy was I right! Bioattic is run by Adrian Bird, who combines his love of nature and arts by creating beautiful plant compositions, terrariums and fabulous bonsai plants.
As a member of the Urban Jungle Bloggers community this was just the kind of shop to discover in Auckland. Not only was I overwhelmed by the bounty of beautiful leafy plants, cacti, bonsai, terrariums but Bioattic also sells one-of-a-kind vintage ceramics and macrame hangers. And my surprise was even bigger when the lovely salesperson knew about the Urban Jungle Bloggers community (and even one other random customer who was in store knew our plants community). I was beyond smitten – hello, the other end of the world and people know the Urban Jungle Bloggers!
As you can imagine I spent a good deal of time running around like a child in a candy store and snapping photos. But I also had to admit to myself that it is out of question to buy a plant. At the end I compromised by buying two vintage ceramics pieces – one way or the other, I left the store very happy and with a camera pumped with plant imagery.
