We all know the stories of the quick and budget friendly interior makeovers. Change the cushion covers on your sofa, add a new throw, why not change the rug you step on everyday? And then there is art for your home. It is probably the easiest, quickest and thanks to many good website probably also the budget friendliest option to change the look of your home (unless you want to decorate with a real Picasso that is). So yes, I felt it was time to inject some freshness into my home. And I opted for new art.
My gallery wall in the living room has been unchanged for quite a while now. For the summer season I thought about adding more blue hues and seascape vibes to create a cosy and maritime vibe against my grey wall. I wanted to exchange the center piece of my gallery wall and swap a vintage piece too. Finding the right art piece for your wall can get quite tricky though. There are so many sites out there offering thousands of art prints, it can really get a bit overwhelming. So here I am to help!
For my summer art makeover I have sourced my two new art pieces at Posterlounge. The selection is almost limitless but if you know what you like or prefer (style, colour, format), you can get to your desired results quickly. So for me it was something blue, something sea inspired. And I found two new pieces. For my gallery wall I opted for a large sea painting. The art print is fabulous cause it’s only brush strokes that create the effect of a sea and sky. My second, smaller art print is a stormy seascape with grey thunder clouds and wild waves. I love it as it looks incredibly three-dimensional and it reminds me of those huge oil paintings in museums. As you see I am using the smaller art print as a statement piece on my table for more interest.
Now it’s your turn! Which corner of your home would need a little art makeover?

Wow, that looks beautiful! The colors and tones, of not only the art, but walls around it, hit just the right notes and balance. I have a rather massive gallery wall in my living room. From photographic prints to illustration to vintage pennants to tiny canvas paintings, I’m doubtful there will be any wall space left if/when I ever move out someday.
Love your blog, by the way, definitely book marking it. 🙂
