Hello from New Zealand! I thought I’ll pop in to start sharing some of my New Zealand discoveries as I feel that after four weeks here I will be flooded in photos, places, inspiration I want to share with you all. So let me start with my first tips for a bed and breakfast in Auckland. And don’t get me wrong: I am not talking about a B&B, but about a cool Airbnb apartment and a fantastic breakfast (or lunch) location named Dear Jervois.
Both places are located in Auckland’s waterfront district Herne Bay. I have booked my Airbnb apartment well in advance and I knew little about the area named Herne Bay but I learned from my friend Mel that it is close to Ponsonby, a great area for shopping, eating, going out. And the Airbnb proofed to be a jackpot: Louise, our host, put fresh flowers in the beautiful apartment wich was located in a quiet street just a five minutes walk from a beach and a five minutes walk from what should become my Auckland breakfast place: Dear Jervois.
Dear Jervois is everything I love – great coffee, good food and lots of plants – all combined with a rustic interior style and a relaxed and cool crowd of people, both staff and guests. I was staying three days in Auckland and discovered a lot of amazing places but Dear Jervois is really in the top 3 list of my Auckland finds (more to come on the blog soon).
The food was scrumptious with a great selection of healthy and interesting options: I had some mouthwatering Matcha waffles with paleo nuts, fruits, quinoa crunch and dollop of raspberry mascarpone and the other time I opted for a Halloumi bagel with avocado. And the smoothies and juices are just incredible – I tasted the Super Juice with apple, ginger, lime carrots and turmeric and a Super Berry smoothie with all sorts of berries, banana, chia seeds, yoghurt, honey and soy milk.
Having said all this I am still wondering why we do not have places like this in Munich? Well, maybe someone will read my lines and open such a place. I’d be a regular customer. After all traveling forth and back to Auckland will be too costly I’m afraid!

It would be an absolute dream to travel to New Zealand. Almost as far away as I can get from Europe!

wow! so lovely! and looks super yummy!
Lucky you… have fun!
