It is no secret that I am moving to a bigger apartment. Right now I am in the moving process and I am also sourcing new pieces for the future home. I am a huge fan of vintage furniture and one question came quickly to my mind: where to buy vintage furniture? I mean nice pieces that do not cost a fortune! Another challenge: I do not have the time to travel the world and rummage through vintage shops, thrift stores, and fleamarkets. So I knew the solution must lie within the world wide web. But how to structure your search in the endless universe of the internet? All these questions and concerns were answered when I stumbled upon a new site: Pamono.
Pamono is a Berlin based online marketplace and magazine that sources unique design objects with a history. Doesn’t that sound much better than simply vintage furniture? I think it does. Pamono offers a huge portfolio of beautiful design objects from past periods – from furniture, over lighting, to accessories. Pamono is truly a sort of treasure trove for vintage lovers like me! However I must admit I knew Pamono even before the move. Because I already scored a wonderful vintage teak sideboard from Denmark for my old apartment. This beauty is moving into the new place of course. But I was on the search for new items too. And I was successful. Again.
For the new apartment I was looking for a beautiful vintage bar cart and dining table. Pamono was just perfect for the hunt! I found a beautiful teak bar cart from the 1960s from Denmark. And I scored a wonderful round dining table from Ercol – the Drop Leaf Table. This is also a design piece from the 1960s and designed by Lucian Ercolani for Ercol. Both pieces arrived in the meantime and look fabulous all by themselves as the rest is not yet furnished and styled. But patience is key in creating a new home!
In a nutshell I can say: Pamono is a fab source for vintage shopping! Three times I was out and about to find vintage pieces, and three times I was successful on Pamono! I truly recommend you have a look next time you are searching for a vintage piece. Additionally different filters help you customize your search (style, period, price range, etc.) and thus make your hunt an efficient and successful one. Try it, you won’t regret it!
This blog post has been brought to you in collaboration with Pamono. As always all opinions and photos are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands who support this blog!
