[Ad/Werbung] As someone who is passionate about interior styling and interior design, and also as someone who has been blogging about it since 2011, I still wonder: How do you find your own interior style? One of my key learinings over the years is the following: a style is nothing static, nothing everlasting. Whenever you think you found your style, you realize a few years later that it has changed. Sometimes it changes slightly, other times it changes drastically. Why? Because our choices reflect our lives. And since our lives are not static either, neither are our homes. And that is absolutely a good thing!
Over the years my interior style has oscillated from Scandinavian to bohemian, to vintage to contemporary, to eclectic and collected. And it is in constant flux. Currently my go-to interior style is a mix of vintage and contemporary with a focus on traditional craftsmanship from the various countries and regions I visit. There is always a little Scandinavian influence too. I prefer most of my vintage pieces from the mid-century era and from Scandinavia. Now finding cool and outstanding vintage and contemporary pieces can be tricky, but thanks to Pamono I am mostly sorted. In both cases!
In earlier posts I wrote about my vintage and contemporary finds on Pamono. This online marketplace really helped me finding some unique Scandinavian vintage pieces like my Danish teak sideboard or my Ercol dining table. Equally I discovered contemporary artists and their works. Working on your personal style should always remain fun. Also, I believe that it is crucial to trust your intuition. Listen to yourself and trust yourself – if it feels right, it is right. And then the perfect piece of furniture or accessory can be just one click away from you – via Pamono.
My mission here on Happy Interior Blog is to encourage each and everyone of you to find your personal interior style. Be brave and go for what feels right for you! Look around in your current home. Are there things that you really don’t like but they are simply there because they always were? Get rid of them! Sell them, give them away to friends, neighbours, or help organizations. Surround yourself with what speaks to you and what makes you happy. Because your home should be a mirror of who you are. And happiness will thrive in such a home. Trust me!
This blog post has been brought to you in collaboration with Pamono.co.uk. As always all opinions and photos are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands who support this blog!
