Small homes come with a number of challenges. One of those challenges are sitting opportunities. Having guests over requires sitting options but a pile of chairs can be just too space consuming. The young French design label Stooly came up with a simple yet smart idea: they created a stool made of cardboard, fully foldable, beautifully looking and good for the environment. Why hello there, Stooly!
The Stooly story started with a trip to southeast Asia by its makers. Highly urbanized areas with little space and environmental challenges brought a smart and sustainable product to life – the Stooly stool. It is made of cardboard and is 100% recyclable and comes folded in the size of a bigger book. It can be easily stored in a drawer, under the bed, or on your bookshelf. Once you decide to use it, its full beauty unfolds: a honeycomb structure is not only lovely to look at but handles up to 300kg of weight. So feel free to sit on it, to pile some favorite books on the Stooly or use it to display a lush houseplant. It is super versatile, sturdy and perfect to unfold when guests come over.
Stooly comes in two sizes and two colours – white and brown. I think more colours are in the planning, think of black and red. You can also choose the top according to your preferences and interior style – I have opted for natural wicker but it also comes in grey or brown felt or a white faux leather top.
I love smart ideas for the home like Stooly. It combines beautiful design and eco-friendliness and brings a very practical and smart solution to your home. Oh and I haven’t mentioned yet that with each Stooly sold one tree is being planted. So what you’re waiting for?
