From Place To Space: A Summer Walk In Munich

On Mondays, you are quite used to my little endeavours and adventures throughout Europe and sometimes beyond. This time, I’ve decided to stay local. I’ve thought it is time to show you a bit around my hood. Munich is very charming in summer. It is a leafy city with lots of green spaces. We have huge parks, a river with alpine waters, biking and jogging trails, little forest and plenty of lawns to enjoy the sun and a good book.

So I’ve put on my walking shoes aka flip flops, charged my iPhone and off I went for a little summer walk through Munich. I’ve snapped around and here are a few shots of my little cruise. On the way, I’ve discovered a new and adorable decoration store with a café called ‘Livingroom‘. They have a beautiful assortment of mostly French brocante – a true heaven for anyone in love with the rustic French country style or shabby chic. And the café serves uh-mazing homemade cakes and creamy coffees. After this little walk I feel refreshed and invigorated to kick off a new week. Happy Monday everyone!

Beautiful! That store looks gorgeous! I am on the other side of Germany. Loving it! I haven’t been to Munich for 10 years or more but remember loving it when I was there. Hope you had a great weekend!

Hi Igor. I’m actually quite envious. Munich does sound wonderful. Not sure if you’re a Monocle reader, but Munich is in Monocle’s top 10 of the world’s most liveable cities in its annual Quality of Life Survey. London never features.

Interesting! But yes, Munich has a really good quality of life. You should come one day and see it!

Now listen boys. Tyler and his bloody Monocle survey of top ten of the world’s most liveable cities. Who TF wants to live in Zurich, can you tell me? Of course, London doesn’t feature..it’s got grit, soul and cosmopolitan flair without being anal. I have this argument every year when the survey comes out. THANK GOD London isn’t in it!!!!!

Munich is lovely and definitely worth a visit Gerard. Igor your photos, once again are delicious….:)

That shop, oh my, that shop. All that white and blue makes my knees rather weak. Can you go back and snap some more photos?!! 😉

Thanks so much for sharing Igor!! I’m coming to Germany in a month and I believe Munich is one of the places Chris and I will stay for a couple of days! I will have to check out this lovely “livingroom” and perhaps to meet you for a cup of coffee at the cafe as well!

    Can’t wait til August!

Your city looks very nice! I only drove through Munich once to get around a major traffic jam and I got very curious about the rest of the city so thanks for sharing some pics :).
