From Place To Space: Personal Vision Of Home

I am running short of trips. There, I said it, loud and clear. This could have the potential to turn my globetrotting heart into a sad and hardly beating one. It could. But luckily enough I already have my tickets for an upcoming Valentine’s weekend in a five star hotel and tickets for the ‘Meet The Blogger’ conference in London. So I am sort of at ease.

For the time being I will invite you again into my little home. After my first home tour I’ve rearranged a few things and added new details so I thought this could be a good option to take you around and share with you those little corners that make me happy at home.

You can see that it is really hard for me to stick to a certain style. That’s why I entitled this post ‘a personal vision of my home’. That is my big issue – I can’t really decide. I love too many things and styles so my home often turns into a mix and match kind of interior design. I have rather clean corners with black and white, then colourful corners with vintage kilims, vibrant illustrations and eclectic little collections, and then I also have maritime corners with dominating blues and whites, little buntings and corals.

All this would be fine if I lived on 100 square meters, but I live on 32 square meters. However, I think this is just fine – after all, the best interior design and styling is the one that represents you and your character. I love when I have guests over and they say: ‘This home is so you. I could tell without knowing that this is your home, Igor.’ And that’s the best compliment I can get. Happy week, friends!

absolutely!! your home is truly your space and I love that your heart is big enough to appreciate the beauties from different design aesthetics, eras, or parts of the world, and not be confined by just one style.

Your home represents the well-traveled you and the treasures + memories you brought home with you. I LOVE IT!

Bright, colourful, cheering and very “Igor”. I always think, a home is only a home when it shows the character of the people living there.

And for the Shepherd’s Pie: sometimes I use a big dish and sometimes those tiny little ones because they just look so pretty on the table. And it’s nice to have single servings to heat up for family members coming home late for dinner.

    Have a wonderful day!

The first two sentences cracked me up – so honest! But I’m very glad to read that you’ll soon be heading to London.

I only know you from your blog and even I can say: your home is so you. Happy and personal style … how does that sound?

Pozdrav.

Glasno sam se nasmejala na ono “I’m running short of trips, there I said it.”

Šaljem velike pozdrave i zagrli mi London…

Each space should be your own, even if that means you have several different styles at play! What is important is that you feel at ease in your space! I love your myriad details, it reflects your character!

LOVE LOVE LOVE… give me this anytime… it’s so colourful, so you and NO, you don’t need to worry about mixing styles.

This makes for the most eclectic and interesting homes. After all, who wants to be beige and sheep, right? Perfect!

We’ve never met but I can tell from reading your blog that your home is so you, Igor – warm, eclectic, vibrant and fun. Bravo!

I so looked forward to meeting you at Meet The Blogger London next month but I recently realised that I won’t be able to make it. Another time perhaps? 🙂

Again this rug. I want it so badly. 🙂 And the pillows. I like your taste very much. And that’s true I also like when people say our apartment is so me, and of curse my husband. 😉 But he is more the technical department, I’m the project management. 😉
