From Place To Space: Prague

The advantage of living in a city like Munich that is located in the heart of Europe, is the proximity of other European capitals. Like Prague. It is a few hours drive away and definitely worth a weekend visit. The medieval city center bursts with picturesque sights like the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square. Don’t be surprised if you’re not all alone there – Prague has been discovered by many international tourists and has become a bustling city with a wide touristic offer. Try to discover the city off the beaten track and you will find charming little cafés and bars mainly visited by locals that will give a more genuine flavour of the Czech capital.

But not everything is historical in the metropolis on the banks of Vltava river. Prague hosts some very refined, modern homes like this airy loft designed by local A1 Architects. Or a growing number of cool, urban design hotels like the Moods. Might be a good option for your weekend trip. Happy Monday, folks!

simply adore prague. careful with those stairs down from the castle – they look slippery! it seems that it always is raining when i’m in prague. it’s lovely to see it in snow. we loved hotel jozef. their martinis were singularly spectacular and i have never seen so much glass so clean!

I still haven’t visited, but it’s rather affordable to travel there from Serbia nowadays, so it’s definitely on the 2012-13 list 😀 Btw, here are some fantastic photos of Prague that I came across just last night – http://www.flickr.com/photos/etoile2802/sets/72157626356046483/.

We went to Prague a couple of winters ago but I definitely did not see things like this loft. I loved Prague though.

Prague is on my “bucket list!” I love how you took a modern approach to this historical city, and I especially love the pop of gray and yellow.

Ha! You were visiting my blog while I was visiting yours, Igor!

I would LOVE to see Prague! I’ve heard so many great things from everyone I know that’s gone. Then again, I’d love to see Munich! Another great place from what I’ve heard! I have travel catching up to do!

Great post! And, thanks for your thoughts on “The Bedlam”! 🙂

Bradford, best solution: First Munich, then Prague! 🙂

Agree with staying off the tourist trail when visiting any city. The number of tourists who do the usual tourist thing in a city such as London is astounding… but suits me that they stay away from the real gems. I’ve never been to Prague, but glad to see it has some lovely modern edges 🙂

I have a picture of myself in that same exact spot as your first photo in Prague! What a magical spot and city!
