It looks like all eyes are focused on Rio de Janeiro and Brazil these days. I quite like it as I think Brazil is an amazingly beautiful country and it’s been on my travel wish list ever since Lambada. But as you might assume, here it’s not about the Olympics and athletic challenges – unless you consider restyling your home into a tropical jungle an athletic task! Then let’s face the challenge!

A few days ago an email popped into my inbox from Murals Wallpaper with some new tropical wallpaper designs and I was instantly inspired – even more, I started pondering: Which wall could turn into a lush, leafy jungle feature wall at home? I really love the 3D tropical foliage wallpaper – maybe above the bed? But I digress. Today I just want to highlight the beauty and lushness of tropical inspired interiors. You do not have to live in a tropical climate to get that Brazilian vibe into your home.

The recipe seems quite simple: Lots of plants, tropical prints and patterns, vibrant colours. The effect is impactful: You  feel like in a jungle, your feet start to dance Samba and you have an instant craving for a yummy exotic cocktail. Ok, ok, maybe the two latter effects are a bit peculiar, but you will truly feel like in a jungle! I promise.

No matter if this look is something you could go for or not – I think it is a sheer pleasure to look at and admire the richness and the vibrancy of tropical inspired interiors. And who knows, maybe it would also feel a bit like constant mini vacations in Brazil – all by staying at home?! So what is your stance on tropical inspired interiors – would you give it a go or no?

haha great minds think alike. I started working on a tropical print blog post this afternoon. It’s long overdue but it looks like the trend is going to be around longer than I expected. I didn’t know this brand yet so thank you for pointing it out.

Leaf print seems to be so popular right now. I recently covered an entire living room in palm print wallpaper. I have to say – I thought it would look awful, but it actually looks amazing albeit not quite as classy as your last pic 🙂
