[Ad/Werbung] It comes as no surprise when I tell you how much I love plants. As one of the founders of the Urban Jungle Bloggers community my love for plants has only thrived over the years. With a growing number of plants at home, I often get the question: How do you care for your plants? Remembering the needs of each plant can be daunting indeed. Sometimes it helps to have a little plant guide. As a result, I came up with the idea of creating a mini plant guide with my instax SQUARE SQ20 hybrid instant camera. Why? Because I think the retro vibe of the instant photos is just so cool for a handy plant guide. Have a look!

For my instax plant guide I chose 10 plants from my personal urban jungle. Intentionally I included some easy plants as well as some very popular plants in my plant guide, such as the hyped Monstera deliciosa variegata or a Fiddle Fig. You will also find some all-time classics such as the rubber tree (its variegated version), the cute Pilea peperomioides or even Tillandsias. I added some basic plant facts regarding light, water and ideal location. And every plant is beautifully set in scene with the black framed instax pictures – I truly hope you like the result as much as I do!

Working with the instax SQUARE SQ20 hybrid instant camera was a treat. I like how easy and pracitcal it is to get instant moments immortalized in a lovely pic. I also like the black instant framed pictures in particular. They look very classy and chic and make a perfect contrast on a white background. I kinda get ideas to create new things with this camera and the black framed pictures…but first things first: my instax plant guide. Additionally, I opted for a handmade little booklet. Yes, I made this booklet myself during a bookbinding workshop in Vienna. So not only the content is handmade by me, but also the booklet itself.

Now this plant guide looks cute (if you ask for my unbiased opinion hahaha) and it is hopefully practical. Because yes, I did not create this instax plant guide for me. Instead I want to offer it to one of you my dear readers!

    Lieber Igor,

    Dear Igor,
I’v just recently started my plant lover journey moving to a new city, having no balcony or terrace, which lead me to search for indoor plant ideas. Ever since I’ve been inspired by the urban jungle blog and follow quite a few inspiring’plant parents’ from all over the globe (including you of course). I’d be very happy to receive your very cute and stylish handwritten plant guide 😁
And If I won’t get it, no worries, I’ll still follow you 😉

Hello Igor – I have always been fascinated by instant photos, a memory of my 70s childhood when those kind of photos were all the rage. Still have many of them and always enjoy the retro vibe. Combined with plants, awesome! Love your blog, always positive. It’s easier to be negative than positive particularily in this world if you listen to news etc so I love to see people turn their backs on gloom n doom and celebrate this life, plants, happy homes.
