Sometimes the place defines the people and their artistic expressions. At least I think so. When it comes to Australia, I often stumble upon designers, artists, photographers who capture the light and airiness of their home country. Their work seems inspired by the sun, the ocean, the easy-going attitude. My latest Australian crush is photographer and stylist Alexandra Strong. This Melbourne based lady puts a magic spell on the beholder of her work: Her photography is like an invitation to a better, sunnier place full of laid-back goodness. Get enchanted!
Coming from a background in arts with a love for photography, design, styling and all things creative, Alexandra Strong highlights the beauty in simplicity. The everyday moments and corners of a mundane life seem so appealing on her pictures. Her strong eye for detail strives for the details in simple settings, the handmade and those real moments with nothing too forced.
As a real plant lover I am utterly drawn to her pictures with lush greens. Luckily, Australia seems to be a place where greens are much appreciated too. Looking at Alexandra’s portfolio I notices the plants, handmade ceramics and cool coffee places – everything I love so much! The photography shown here was shot by Alexandra for the soon to be launched Wander Co magazine. Yet another Australian concoction you should keep an eye at!
I want to visit Australia even more now thanks to Alexandra Strong’s photography. Oh and my, I wouldn’t mind having a coffee in one of those cool Melbourne cafés with her too. Ok, I will work on it!
