If you love decorating and styling your home, then your rooms always have the potential of being a blank canvas in front of your decorating eye. Even though your room is furnished and decorated, you always seem to detect the potentials of a redecoration and new interior styling. At least that’s how I feel with my tiny home. Since my bedroom is so small that moving furniture is not a real option, it is all in the details and accessories to refresh and recreate the room. And it was about time to add a dash of seasonal decor to my bedroom.
The easiest tools to refresh a room’s look and feel are the rug, some flowers and plants. Easy and budget-friendly. And that was what I went for! For this redecoration project I have teamed up with the design webshop Made in Design. I’ve had my eye on the modern kilim rugs from Ferm Living for quite a while. And this was the moment to add one to my bedroom – I like its natural, Scandi and modern touch. Additionally I shifted a few of my indoor plants around and I wanted fresh blooms – with a warm orange to reflect the vibrant autumn foliage outside. A quick trip to the market solved the problem and a new vase served as the perfect vessel – the vase is a design classic by Alvar Aalto from 1936 and nowadays produced by Finnish design label Iittala. Of course I went for the blue version – a perfect match for the vibrant orange blooms.
Even though I exchanged just a few bits, I feel invigorated and my room feels refreshed and makes me happy. And with interiors it’s like with other aspects of life – it’s the small things that count and make all the change. Which room in your home is a good candidate for a redecoration project?
