Seriously, I love summer, I love warm temperatures, but when I am in town and working I am not a big fan of 30+ degrees Celsius. It gets hot, I am boiling in my clothes when going to work, I am sweating in the metro (where all the old people complain if anyone dares to crack open a window), I am shutting all blinds in the office, and then one more sweat round in the public transport to get home. And then, well then, home sweet home, right? Uhm not so much in peak summer: My rooftop apartment tends to turn into a hot greenhouse with temperatures not dropping below 30 degrees Celsius even during night. Now blogging with these conditions is an agony. But luckily a few tips help to improve and boost summer blogging (or any other working) at home! Here are my simple tips to beat the heat!

Get the air in motion!

Honestly I could not sit here right now and type these words if I had not a fan cooling me down. I used to have an old fan that started to fall apart after a few years, but now I am the happy owner of theΒ fancy Dyson Cool fan. I’ve seen this fan around for quite a while and always wondered if it is any good, I mean without rotating blades and stuff. But deep inside I guessed it must work – and of course it does! It has a great flow of air, it looks spacey, it is easy to carry around (important for me) and – my personal luxury – it has a remote control. Not that bad! But of course, any fan will do the deed of getting the air in your home in motion. Do it and imagine it’s a fresh sea breeze!

Drink water, like all the time!

During hot summer days I am not fancying anything else as a drink but pure water. I do filter my water, but that’s it. I keep drinking it all day but I do not keep track of the amount. With these temperatures I feel I would turn into a shrunk prune if I did not drink water all day. Temporarily, I like to brew my own iced tea with fresh berries, too.

Eat light food & snack fruits!

Now this is the best side effect of hot summer days: I do not fancy lots of food. No sweets (they melt), no meat (too heavy). At home I stick to salads, cooked veggies, sometimes I even dine a bowl of cereals with cold milk and fruits. And for in-between snacking I stick to fruits and nuts. If only this would make up for all the chocolate eaten the rest of the year!!

Spritz it up!

Don’t forget to water your plants and spray them with water too. And you know, you can always spray that water into your face too:-)

Happy summer days!

Great tips! My one and only advice is to leave town and go to the nearest island lol πŸ˜‰
How cool is your fan!!!! At first, I thought it was some kind of modern sculpture.

    Have a relaxing Sunday!

30 degrees at night is waaay too hot, that fan looks amazing. Water (+ lemon) is all I drink during summer too. Alright, coffee too πŸ˜‰ And salads are essential, love them. On an unrelated note: love your wooden clock and those air plant holders!! And do I spot your new avatar? πŸ˜‰ Beautiful photo.

I wish I needed a fan right now, but the temperature in DK has dropped 10 degrees, and it feels a lot like autumn to tell you the truth πŸ™‚ So I’m hoping for warmer days, but still love the shots from your home Igor xx Happy weekend,
    Ax
