Last week I was honored to be invited with a fine line-up of German bloggers to a styling event with Germany’s biggest interior magazine Schöner Wohnen. We gathered on a very hot and steamy day in a bright studio in Hamburg‘s hip Schanzenviertel quarter and with a glass of ice cold lemonade we were welcomed to a fun, inspiring and stylish afternoon with the the magazine’s chief editor, styling crew and photographer. But there was more to it – we had the unique opportunity to peek at a brand new project: The interior magazine Schöner Wohnen will launch their own webshop this summer combining their expertise in inspiring product styling and renown design and home accessories brands.
After a short presentation and peek at the webshop (it will be great as you can literally shop everything from their inspiring stylings) we were challenged to style three different tabletops. We split up in three groups and created one breakfast table, one lunch table and one dinner table. All had also an entirely different look – from pastel colored over rustic and green to glamorous black and pink.
I do not need to mention that I was part of the green theme alongside Joanna, Ricarda and Jasmin with lots of wooden accents and green veggies. It was quite fun to style such an exuberant table with an abundance of unconventional decor items – that is lots of fresh vegetables. And it is always a great experience to be accompanied by professional stylists who feedback throughout the process and give great advice on how to improve a styling. Plus it is yet another learning when you work with the photographer as a styling needs to work in a two-dimensional setting for magazines. So it was a lot of shifting, moving, removing and adding. But at the end we were all happy with the different tabletop stylings.
Keep an eye on the upcoming Schöner Wohnen Shop this summer! And have a great week!
