There you go: Now that I am in New Zealand for four weeks, there is no control whatsoever back home my munchkin has gone berserk! Luckily I have a friend who has the keys to my apartment to look after my plants and this is what I got from her! My little monkey has gone wild, like a real jungle animal, and he was all over the place climbing the plants. A real jungle monkey!

I love him dearly, he is my pet if you want so. And usually he behaves very well knowing his exact spot at home. But once I am out of the house, he takes over and becomes the jungle king. He also has a preferred seat to sit and observe the jungle. Oh and he is a cheeky fellow too – sometimes he pretends to be all innocent even though he aims to climb yet another plant. Such a little munchkin!

Well, I guess he will have a lot of fun during my absence. While I am discovering New Zealand (join me on Instagram if you like), he is the unrivaled jungle king. A real jungle animal after all!! See you all soon & cheers from New Zealand!

Ha ha, so funny 🙂 . Beautiful pictures too!

I was wondering if you have any tried and tested tips for caring for plants when on vacations? Like increasing humidity?, self-watering?, and of course asking a friend to help out, like you have mentioned here. If you have more tips, I would love to hear from you! I am always so worried about going away and leaving my plants 🙁

I know Vin, that is pretty tricky! Especially during long trips like this 4-weeks trip to NZ! Usually I am not so worried about my plants when I am gone for a week or maximum two. I give them a thorough watering before leaving and that is good. The cacti and succulents are easy anyway. They don’t care too much, even when I am gone for four weeks. But this time I have used watering globes for some of my leafy plants. These will keep them from drying out too quickly. But it is not a solution for four weeks which is why I’ll have a friend over after two weeks to water the plants.

Your plants really make a great jungle! And the little monkey always reminds me of “Curious George”. He also likes to do such funny things…
