With every new month and new Urban Jungle Bloggers topic I make an illusional plan ahead. This month I will take my time, this time I will prepare everything well in advance, this time I even thought of getting a really nice flower bouquet from a florist for the styling. And then reality smacks my face. I am running around, traveling, working and I end up doing everything like every month: last minute. Going to the florist around the corner after work, running back home and quickly throwing the plants and flowers together and photo shooting them before the sun sets. So yes, it’s yet another regular Urban Jungle Bloggers styling post on Happy Interior Blog!

Nevertheless I hope you will enjoy my messy plants and flowers arrangements. I had one hour to put everything together and to photograph it, so please bear with me! But let’s get back to this month’s special topic. As we saw many of you using flowers in various previous Urban Jungle Bloggers topics we thought let’s put those all-time favorites of us together and pair plants and flowers.

I am always fascinated by flower bloggers like my friend Elodie who know so many flowers and put the most beautiful bouquets together before they photograph them magically. Well I am more hands-on here in my approach and I somehow ended up with too many flowers for my humble abode, so I filled up quite a few vases and made a vignette on my coffee table, on my side table and on my bedroom sideboard. Oh and I got finally to use my new Unico vase from Kähler Design – I love its belly shape and the thick yellow glazing (judging by the number of pictures with the Unico vase, it seems to be my new favorite)!

The sunflowers were the first flowers I bought for the styling. I love their cheerful, bright and happy appearance – they seem to inherit a bit of the sun’s power and brighten up a home even on a gloomy day. Later I bought a bunch of mixed autumn flowers and some eucalyptus twigs as well as a few monstera leaves. I won’t tell you about the mess I created in my apartment while putting the blooms together – it was hilarious.

Hihi I think our fast and furious approach was the same this month, but your stylings look so nice. Lovely plants and the sunflowers and berries are stunning. Also love the ceramics you use for your plants, definitely another reminder to buy some beautiful new plant pots here in Spain 😉 Big hugs to you from the mountains! And hurray for Plants & Flowers 😉

Wow! I can’t say what I love more! I like the styling, the airplant-holder, the different ceramics you used for planting, the flowers and plants, this beautiful yellow vase… Awesome!!! Have a great weekend… Michaela

Well regardless of the speedy way it sounds you put it together, it looks pretty amazing! You arranged the flowers so well too, something that I’m never game enough to try… I’m wondering though, if you could at one point line all of your vintage ceramics up to show just how many and what you have, your collection seems endless!

Oh thank you Mel! Good idea regarding ceramics. Maybe I’ll do soon a post dedicated to my excessive ceramics collection!

Ha, is there any other way than last minute? 😉 It all looks lovely. Oh! And that little vase with the blue drip glaze… <3!

I really like the plant on the wall in the first picture – are you able to provide more information on it?

    • Reply Igor October 19, 2015 at 14:21

That is an airplant or tillandsia – they grow without soil, all they need is sunlight and some water from time to time!

Just found your blog, and love all the plants! That little tillandsia holder is adorable!

    Hi Igor-

I love plants…and yours are beautiful! Could you tell me what the kind or name of the plant is in the second photo, in the gray little planter? it’s got round-ish leaves. It remind me of a Chinese Money Tree but I don’t think that’s it. Thanks!

    • Reply Igor December 17, 2015 at 10:00

Hi Francia, it is a Chinese Money Tree or Pilea Peperomioides!! You were right!
