Last Friday the faces of Judith and me brimmed over with smiles from ear to ear. We had a good reason after all. That day we launched our Urban Jungle book in the lush botanical garden in Munich. And everything was just perfect: It was sunny and warm, the venue was filled with dear friends, bloggers, journalists and partners and we were surrounded by plants. And most importantly the new Urban Jungle book was hot off the press!
Both Judith and I only received the books two days prior to the launch event and we couldn’t be happier with the result. The book turned out just wonderful – from the cover to the paper quality and colours. Everything is just what we hoped for. And more.
We kicked off the launch with a short presentation about the Urban Jungle Bloggers. Then we talked about our passion for plants, about the creative community and how everything eventually turned into a book idea. Finally, we shared some fun behind-the-scenes shots and talked about the talented people who worked with us: the photographer Lina Skukauske, the illustrator Saar Manche, the wonderful home owners and the 18 international bloggers who contributed to the book.
The attendees had ready made goodie bags with the book and got a first peek into ‘Urban Jungle’ or the German version ‘Wohnen in Grün’. Afterwards we enjoyed a guided tour through the cacti and succulents collection of the botanical garden including the greenhouses that are not open to the public. The high temperatures made us feel like in a desert – and the cacti and succulents were all happy!
Our part of the day ended with a fine and relaxed lunch in the restaurant of the botanical garden. Later our friends Gudy and Anastasia continued with their workshops. Thanks again to our publisher Callwey for a fantastic day! Now we are getting ready for our Berlin launch event. Stay tuned!
