Traveling is an essential part of my life. Preparing trips is quite often an exciting, cool but sometimes also tedious task. Searching for good flight deals, connections, car rentals and accommodation. I am not the kind of traveler who tends to return to the same spots even if I revisit a city. Athens is one of those cities that is regularly on my itinerary, however I like to discover new places and hotels in the Greek capital whenever I am going back. During my last trip in late September I had one stop-over in Athens with one night and I wanted to find a new and interesting place. A short online research later I stumbled upon a new name on one of those comparison sites – In[n]Athens. A new hotel promising to be the place for an ‘urban stay’ in Athens.

Just a few pictures were shared and I was intrigued – they showed a very cool, minimalistic hotel design which is rather untypical for Athens. I was ready to give it a go. There was a big question mark however – at that point, the hotel was neither open nor had they a website or any other digital outlet. It was booking with a certain risk. But sometimes traveling includes taking risks, right? So I booked my stay. Upon my arrival in Athens I was very happy and relieved to find the hotel open and ready to welcome its first guests – me among them.

The In[n]Athens hotel is located in the city center, just a few walking minutes from the central Syntagma square and also just a few walking minutes to the famous Plaka and the Acropolis. It is located in a back building with a beautiful and green courtyard. The hotel itself is very modern and its decor is minimalistic and urban, the staff is very friendly and helpful. My room was not very big but spacious enough to unwind after a hot day out in town. White and grey are the dominating colours and little Greek sweets welcome the guests when they enter their rooms. A beautiful shower seems to pay reference to ancient Greek sites with marble juxtaposed to cool black surfaces.

Even though the hotel was barely open when I stayed there, I enjoyed my short but stylish visit at the In[n]Athens hotel. I had to leave pretty early the next morning so I did not taste the breakfast – I can only assume that is as fine as the rest of this new and cool hotel for an urban stay in Athens, Greece.

The space is impressive in all its minimalism & the details totally enchanting. I love the world “Xronos” meaning “Time” {as I’m sure you know already speaking the language ;)} written with stones & the room you stayed looks great. Totally loving that bathroom & the modern use of dark marble in the veranda.

I would love to make a stop during my next stroll in Athens, drink a cup of tea & snap a few shots.
Thank’s for sharing my dear. And once more, thank you for the wonderful dinner & making the time to meet.
Many kisses, bis nächste mal 🙂 xoxo

You are so right about feeling like it’s ages ago!
This prolonged stay here in Athens – while the rest of my… being is rooted in & longing for Germany – is a strange experience, yet like you said, I’m sure it’s bringing me to the wonderful place I long to be.
        Halleloujah!
Meeting you would be great when I’m there again. If it doesn’t work out this time, it will a next one.
I have no objection to coming to Munich after all 😉 Bisus! xo
