Now what do you do when IKEA calls you and tells you they want to come over and shoot your home for their IKEA Family Magazine and their website? Well you look around and ask yourself: why? Next thing you hear them saying something like…in the magazine…worldwide…on the website…and your disbelief grows. One thing leads to another and next thing you know there are seven people in your 32 square meters apartment, stylings, shuffling, interviewing and photographing you. Oh and I was such a lucky fellow as the stylist who came to my apartment was Emily Henson, the author of Bohemian Modern, a book I really love!
Sometimes all these home stories make me thing back at the time eight years ago when I came to visit this apartment during an appointment with a real estate agent. It was a public appointment and there were other potential tenants visiting the place that was still fully furnished by a young girl, I think she was a student, at that time. I came over from Austria just for the visit and I was the last visitor that day. I spoke to the real estate agent quickly, I somehow fell in love with the cosy size and layout of this rooftop apartment while gazing at Munich’s old town through the windows and I filled in a sort of form for tenants. Next morning I had a call from the agent and the apartment was mine.
Eight years later I styled and restyled my apartment dozens of times, I had half a dozen photo shootings for various publications, IKEA being the last one. And I think this should stay the last one. I mean how much more can you show on 32 square meters? I’ll put it in Michael Jackson’s words: This is it!
You can see the full story in the current issue of IKEA Family Magazine and some online stories HERE, HERE and HERE.
P.S. Tomorrow I am off to a 4-weeks road trip through New Zealand and things will get a bit more quiet here on the blog. However watch out for the next up and coming Urban Jungle Bloggers post coming week! And join me to New Zealand over on Instagram!

Danke Dir Sarah!! Nein, nein, ich wollte nur sagen, dass es nichts mehr zu sehen gibt auf 32m2. Irgendwann ist auch mal gut mit den Home Stories:-)))

Thank you Emily!! It was so fun to work with the other Emily in my apartment:-) See you on Instagram, all the way from New Zealand!!
It’s a lovely article and I really like the mood they captured in the photos – relaxed and moody, while the plants add vibrancy.
Thank you very much Sarah. The weather during the photo shoot was very appropriate for a moody feeling:-)
